SSPHO News May 2026: Board Updates, Call for Abstracts, and Deadlines

New SSPHO Board Member: Dr. med. Severin Kasser

In early May, the ordinary members of the SSPHO unanimously elected Dr. med. Severin Kasser to the Board. He succeeds Dr. med. Christina Schindera, who has stepped down. The SSPHO expresses its sincere gratitude to Christina Schindera for her invaluable contribution to the establishment and growth of the society.

Call for Abstracts: SPOG SSPHO Scientific Meeting 2027

The SPOG SSPHO Scientific Meeting 2027 will take place from 15–16 January 2027. Abstract submissions covering all areas of pediatric oncology, hematology, and stem cell transplantation are welcome.

Professional Training: 2026 Specialized Examination

Registration is open for the annual Specialized Examination in Pediatric Oncology – Hematology.

  • Application Deadline: 31 July 2026

  • Languages: Available in German, French, and English

National Rollout of the Prepared-App

Following the General Assembly decision, the Prepared-App is expanding to all Swiss pediatric oncology centers. This tool supports the implementation of a competence-based EPA curriculum for fellows. Each center is currently appointing two medical education coordinators to facilitate the local rollout.
