Annual Conference Platform Qualitätsmedizin Schweiz: Quality Promotion Within and Outside of Tariffs

Quality Promotion Within and Outside of Tariffs: New Opportunities under SwissDRG, Outpatient Flat Rates plus EFAS

The introduction of national quality agreements and the uniform financing of outpatient and inpatient services (EFAS) are pivotal milestones designed to steer the Swiss healthcare system toward greater efficiency and quality while reducing misincentives. National quality agreements are already defining a range of quality improvement measures (QVM) alongside existing tariff incentive models. But how can meaningful quality and price competition function under these new modalities? What further adjustments are required to boost quality awareness and ensure a patient-oriented healthcare supply?

The Plattform Qualitätsmedizin Schweiz cordially invites you to its 15th Annual Conference. This event serves as a constructive hub bringing together healthcare stakeholders and various interest groups to actively debate, network, and develop a shared vision for tomorrow's solutions.

Registration

Binding registration is required by October 30, 2026. You can register via the online form here.

Fees and Conditions

  • Conference Partners: CHF 350.-

  • Non-Members: CHF 450.-

3rd Conference on Controversies in Sarcoma

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are rare and complex tumors that require highly specialized and interdisciplinary management. Due to limited prospective data and inconsistent findings from retrospective studies, many clinical decisions remain uncertain or controversial. Expert consensus is therefore key to optimizing patient care and closing gaps in current guidelines.

The Conference on Challenges in Sarcoma brings together internationally renowned specialists from pathology, radiology, surgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and patient advocacy. In an interactive setting, experts will discuss controversial topics, share current research findings, and develop practice-oriented recommendations. The focus is on real-world clinical relevance, interdisciplinary exchange, and international collaboration.

Registration and Fee

Qualitäts Medizin Schweiz ACADEMY Seminar 2026: Taxes, Demands and Incentives: Tools for Quality-Oriented Planning and Financing of Inpatient Services

Current developments in the Swiss healthcare system, particularly the introduction of EFAS and the design of national quality contracts under Art. 58a KVG, present an enormous opportunity: We can shift the focus of the debate away from a purely price-based discussion toward genuine management of the quality of care.

Discuss this topic with recognized experts, including the Swiss Quality Commission (EQK), the Scientific Institute of the AOK (WIdO), Prof. Mansky (an expert in hospital and quality management, formerly HELIOS Clinics), as well as representatives from hospitals and insurance.

The seminar will examine the strengths and weaknesses of various quality measurement methods (routine, registry, and process data) and the importance of PROMs and PREMs for managing inpatient care. In addition, the report outlines ways to evaluate additional medical services across various indication areas based on their macroeconomic impacts throughout the healthcare delivery chain, in order to effectively manage and compensate providers (value-based redistribution).

We look forward to your participation and an inspiring dialogue.

Program:

9:50 WELCOME and introductions

10:00 “Quality improvement as a legal mandate – Where are we headed?”

10:35 “A comparison of quality measurement methods”

11:10 Coffee break

11:40 “National quality contracts - their significance in the quality discussion and insights into their implementation”

12:30 Lunch break

14:10 “When Routine Is Lacking: Identifying Hospitals with Critical Volume Deficits”

14:35 “Making Quality Measurable: Routine Data as a Reflection of the Reality of Care.”
