International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD 2026)

SIOP Europe: Policy Dialogue on the Future of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan - Implementation for Children & Adolescents: Looking Ahead

It's that time of the year again! You are invited to mark your calendar for the upcoming ICCD policy event, hosted by MEP Vlad Voiculescu (Renew, Romania), in celebration of International Childhood Cancer Day.

Date: Thursday 26 February 2026
Time: 15:30–17:00 CET
Format: Online (register here)

This year's discussion will take stock of the achievements of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP), in particular its Spotlight on Childhood Cancer and examine how these achievements can be translated into timely and sustainable delivery for children and adolescents up to and after 2030.
The discussion will focus on two core priority areas across the childhood cancer continuum:

  • Equal access to high-quality care and research, including access to specialised expertise, cross-border collaboration, and innovation for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, regardless of where they live in Europe;

  • Survivorship and psychosocial care, with a focus on long-term follow-up and the sustainability of survivorship programmes for childhood cancer survivors and their families.

Hosted by: MEP Vlad Voiculescu, (Renew, Romania), With the participation of the European Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP Europe) and Childhood Cancer International – Europe (CCI Europe)
