Professional Training: Rollout of the EPA "Prepared-App"

Following the SSPHO General Assembly, we are expanding the use of the Prepared-App for the continuing education of fellows in pediatric hematology-oncology to all national centers. This initiative supports our mission to cover the diverse needs of professional education and ensure state-of-the-art competence among healthcare professionals.

Online Information Session

We invite all interested participants to an introductory session to explain the EPA (Entrustable Professional Activities) concept and the app's implementation:

  • Date: 22 April 2026

  • Time: 16:30

  • Speaker: Adi Marty, founder of the Prepared-App and SIWF representative.

Each center is encouraged to identify at least two persons responsible for medical education to act as facilitators for the rollout.

Competence-Based Curriculum

The EPA-Curriculum shifts training toward a competence-based model. Progress is measured via an "Entrustment-Supervision Scale" across five levels, ranging from observation (Level 1) to the ability to supervise others (Level 5).

The curriculum encompasses several core clinical domains:

  • Basic Skills & Competencies: Including bone marrow aspiration, chemotherapy prescription, and patient education.

  • Clinical Management: Covering Non-malignant Hematology, Haemostaseology, Malignant Hematology, Neurooncology, and Solid Tumors.

This structured approach allows the SSPHO to continuously evaluate the curriculum for young investigators and provide planned career development.
