Launch of a Study: Occasional Childcare in Daycare Centres as Part of the Care Pathway

Families navigating a serious illness or complex medical treatment often face sudden logistical challenges, particularly regarding emergency or temporary childcare. To explore new solutions, Groupe EDUCALIS (an independent organisation active in education and early childhood in French-speaking Switzerland) has launched a new study investigating the relevance of offering occasional childcare in daycare centres within a family’s care pathway.

Supported by the Ligue vaudoise contre le cancer and the Croix-Rouge vaudoise, this initiative aims to collect structured perspectives from both affected families and the healthcare professionals who care for them.

Relevance and Action for SSPHO Members

As pediatric oncology and hematology professionals, your insights into the daily struggles and emergency needs of these families are invaluable. We highly recommend that SSPHO members take a few minutes to participate in this study and help disseminate it to relevant patients. Your support will ensure a representative sample to help shape future complementary support services.
