Spotlight on SSPHO Working Groups: Paediatric Thrombosis & Haemostasis (THWG)
Led by Mattia Rizzi (Chair) and Alessandra Bosch (Vice Chair), the Paediatric Thrombosis & Haemostasis Working Group (THWG) addresses the critical need for pediatric-specific evidence, standardized protocols, and optimized care for children with thrombotic and bleeding disorders.
Because diagnostic and therapeutic strategies often rely on adult data extrapolation, the THWG establishes age-appropriate guidelines, drives multicentre research, and acts as a bridge between the SSPHO, the Swiss Hematology Network (SHN), the Swiss Society of Hematology (SSH), and international societies.
Key Aims & Focus Areas
Research & Registries: Promote research on inherited and acquired conditions, supporting data collection and multicentre studies.
Clinical Guidance: Develop consensus guidelines and best-practice recommendations for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
