University Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of Northwestern Switzerland (University PHO NWCH)

The pediatric hematology and oncology departments at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital (KSA) and the University Children’s Hospital of Both Basel (UKBB) have been collaborating since early 2026 as part of a cross-site partnership known as the University Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Northwest Switzerland.

This organizational model, unique in Switzerland, combines two independently managed sites, each with its own site director, under a single, cross-site overall leadership. Since May 1, 2026, Dr. Jeanette Greiner, President of the SSPHO, has held this position. The goal is to further develop university-level care, research, and education and training across both sites and to sustainably strengthen the high quality of treatment at both centers.
