New Global Benchmarks for Childhood Cancer Survival (CONCORD-4)
The latest cycle of the global CONCORD programme, CONCORD-4, has for the first time published comprehensive survival data for all types of childhood cancers. Analyzing records of over 613,000 children across 68 countries, the study introduces a new "one-number" metric—the Cancer Survival Index (CSI)—to monitor progress toward the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) target of 60% 5-year survival by 2030.
Switzerland’s Excellent Results
The findings highlight Switzerland's outstanding performance in pediatric oncology. The data shows that Switzerland has already far exceeded the WHO 2030 target, achieving a 5-year Cancer Survival Index (CSI) of over 80%.
