Delphi Survey - Please Register

The WPH (Working Party Haemostasis) of the Swiss Society for Haematology will be conducting a DELPHI Survey to establish consensus on Thrombophilia Testing Practices in Switzerland.

If you conduct thrombophilia testing or counselling in your clinical practice (adults or paediatrics), please register here to receive the participation link for the DELPHI questionnaire before August 17th - it will be sent late August 2025.

Childhood Cancer Registry of Switzerland (ChCR): Annual Report

The annual report 2024 of the Childhood Cancer Registry of Switzerland (ChCR) is now available on the ChCR-website in English here and in German here.

This annual report includes results on childhood cancer cases from the actual dataset and recent developments in childhood cancer research. We hope you like it and appreciate any kind of feedback on chcr.ispm@unibe.ch.

 

Gold September Policy Event – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2025

Don’t miss the Gold September Policy Event 2025 — ‘No Child Left Behind: Prioritising Childhood Cancer in the next EU Budget’. Organised by the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) and Childhood Cancer International – Europe (CCI-E), this event will bring together EU policymakers, researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates to evaluate how EU cancer strategies have addressed the needs of children with cancer — and to call for continued prioritisation in the upcoming 2028–2034 EU budget.

Annual Report - Kinderkrebs Schweiz

Kinderkrebs Schweiz has just released its latest Annual Report, offering a detailed look at its efforts over the past year to improve the lives of children affected by cancer. The report outlines new projects launched, milestones reached, and the organisation’s ongoing commitment to advancing care and support — not only during treatment but well into survivorship.

New National Cancer Plan in Development

As communicated this month, Oncosuisse is currently working with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Conference of Cantonal Health Directors (GDK) to develop the National Cancer Plan 2026–2032. Five key areas have been prioritized: early detection, access to care, cancer survivorship, clinical research, and patient data.

Starting in autumn 2025, stakeholder workshops will be held to define concrete implementation strategies. The Federal Council is expected to adopt the new Cancer Plan in summer 2026.

Symposium 50th anniversary SPOG

The Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) will mark its 50th anniversary next year with a symposium. The event will take place on Friday, 5 June 2026 in the Auditorium Ettore Rossi at Inselspital Bern. SPOG kindly asks to save the date – further details, the official invitation and registration link will follow in due course.

Reminder: Abstract Submission - Joint SPOG SSPHO Scientific Meeting 2026

We kindly invite you to take the opportunity to submit your abstract for the Joint SSPHO/ SPOG Scientific Meeting 2026 (submission deadline: 15th October, 2025).

We would love to get to know your results of current research projects, case studies, protocol presentations or other abstract contents. Abstracts from the whole field of pediatric oncology, hematology and stem cell transplantation are accepted. The members of the Joint Scientific Committee will review all abstract submissions.

Your presentations will be a crucial part in the success of the Scientific Meeting 2026, and will provide you with the opportunity to exchange views on your work with the community.
